Is the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast Haunted?

jazmaonline@gmail.comA while back I received a call on the paranormal hotline, in which a woman that wanted to remain anonymous claimed she stayed at the infamous Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast in Fall River, Massachusetts. She claims that she saw a shadow figure move against the wall. She just brushed it off and thought it was her over active imagination. After her vacation in Massachusetts, she went back to her home in Missouri. On the 2nd night being home, she had a vivid dream of taking an axe and killing her husband. This same nightmare was occurring night after night after night. She was so terrified of this dream, that she actually took the axe from her garage and threw it in a garbage dispenser at her local store. When she called me and told me of this experience, I suggested to her that she needed to get a full submersion baptism. A full submersion baptism is a basic form of exorcism and whatever may be tormenting her, will leave her body. She told me that she was not a Christian, but that she was a Buddhist. I then suggested that she get a cleansing utilizing her Buddhist beliefs. She engaged in a Buddhist ritual. The sacrament is meant to cleanse her spiritual being and soul. Other Buddhist members assisted her. She did a follow-up with me and told me that she was cleansed and is no longer having the Lizzie Borden type of nightmares. Now you may ask me. "Paul, do you think what this caller experienced is real?" Answer: "I don't know. Some people get traumatized after watching something on ID Discovery. So perhaps the stories of Lizzie Borden stuck with the caller, causing her to have nightmares. I don't get any outstanding reports that the Borden House is haunted. Read on."
As we all know Lizzie Borden in 1892 murdered her father and stepmother with an axe and she was acquitted of the crimes. Many ghost hunters wonder if Lizzie is still haunting the house, or maybe her father and stepmother are still lingering around the house? It was time for me and my wife Deanna Jaxine Stinson to head off to Massachusetts to find out. The stories that are related to hauntings of the Borden Bed & Breakfast are scarce. There are reports of the floor creaking. That doesn’t tell me much. My floors at times creak and my house was built in 1998. The Borden house is very old, so I would imagine the house is still settling and causing these creaking noises. People at times smell a faint floral scent. Hmmm. Many guests and tourists come and go at this house, it could be anyone’s perfume or cologne that they are smelling. Shadows are sometimes seen. At night at my home, sometimes a car light will hit the window just right, to cause odd shadows to cross my walls. This could almost be anything. One witness said a shadow walked up the staircase. Perhaps a trickery of the eyes? Light bulbs burn out. My lightbulbs burn out all the time around my house, there is nothing paranormal about that at all. People freak out over the smallest things. I watched one program about Salem and the Borden House and the guest thought he saw the mannequin move. Another guest said they had flying orbs chase them out of the door. I wasn’t impressed with the paranormal stories from the Borden House and I can only wonder why the murdered victims would want to stick around this house? I would imagine that the murdered victims souls would immediately want to go into the light and not stick around a house that has a horrible memory. As for Lizzie sticking around the house, I doubt it. I don’t believe there is any intelligent energy residing at the Borden House, but I do believe there is residual energy that stays there. The act of a double murder replays over and over again. This negative energy is forever imprinted into the atmosphere.
Because the Borden House has an evil notoriety, ghost hunters are drawn to this house. They would probably do better in getting evidence at a place like Moaning Caverns – see here:

Many bones were discovered in this cave. Some of the oldest human remains have been discovered at this cave. I rappelled in this cave and remember talking to some frequent rappellers of this cave and they told me that they experienced ghostly touches, seen orbs with their own eyes and a few ghost hunters captured EVPs of languages that they did not understand. Moaning Caverns is not known to many paranormal investigators. If you want evidence, you should visit Moaning Caverns before visiting the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast. That’s my advice.

Celebrities I Met REVISED 11/20/2017
During my lifetime I came across many celebrities. More by accident than on purpose. I want to name a few that I met and explain to you how I met them. Let’s start off with Edward James Olmos. As a government worker, he was involved with a function at my government office and I saw him walking on the sidewalk, along the building and I stopped him for a picture with my co-worker. Real nice guy. When I was headed over to Hawaii, I met up with Kam Fong Chun who played Chin Ho Kelly on Hawaii 5-0. I walked up to him and shook his hand and told him I enjoyed watching him on Hawaii 5-0 and he thanked me. He asked me how long I was going to be staying in Hawaii. I told him it was a layover and that I was headed to Thailand and he laughed. I met many comic book creators at the 1997 San Diego International Comic Con, but the one creator that stands out is meeting the friendly and nice Stan Lee. I went up to Stan and shook his hand. We gave Stan Lee the Peoples' Comic Book Newsletter Tribute to Stan Lee Award. He appreciated the award.
Hopalong Cassidy. When I was a small boy living in Fresno, my dad took me to a parade. We came across Hopalong and he picked me up in the air and said I was a good looking boy. Arnold Schwarzenegger. I first saw Arnold filming a movie at the Mayfair Hotel in Los Angeles, he was filming True Lies. His stunt double was on a horse and the horse collapsed and slid on the carpet. The horse slid so hard, some of his thigh leg skin peeled off. Later I met Arnold when he became Governor of California and I shook his hand and came across him 3 more times. One time saw him in the basement with his security guards and he stared right at me. Ted Nugent. Met Ted when he was sitting in my Branch Chief's office getting his hunting license. Shook hands with Ted, nice guy. When I was attending the event Witchapalooza at Cal-Expo in Sacramento, it was my media job to interview two celebrities that was attending this event. They were: Kristy Swanson aka Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Malcolm McDowell. When it came to interviewing Malcolm McDowell, my questions were focused for Roddy McDowall. Malcolm looked at me and said: "You have the wrong McDowall." I was so embarrassed and immediately started talking about Clockwork Orange in which Malcolm was the star. Fortunately for me, Malcolm enjoyed talking about that movie. Meeting Malcolm was my most embarrassing moment in meeting a celebrity.
I never met Barbi Benton, but my dad did. He used to work in the same government building as Barbi and one day he asked Barbi: “Barbi, since you are Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend, when are you going to quit your State job?” Barbi said: “Not yet, but getting close.” While Arnold was governor, I rode the elevator once with his wife Maria Shriver, nice lady.
I saw Leonard Padilla, Bounty Hunter in action with his men as they were trying to apprehend a criminal at a State building. When I lived in Citrus Heights, Tony “The Tiger” Lopez was dating my roommate, so I met him a couple of times. I met Edwin Meese’s brother, who worked at a government building that I worked in. While walking near K Street Mall in Sacramento, a limo pulled up to the red light and in the back seat, window rolled down was Dick Cheney. Dick looked at me and smiled.
At a nightclub in Citrus Heights called Bobby McGee’s I made eye contact with Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer, a wrestler. Buzz Sawyer was focused on me and I was focused on him. I walked up to him and told him I would watch him wrestle on TV, when I was stationed in the Southern States. We talked and became friends. Buzz on one night at this club, lifted me up and carried me all around the night club. I asked Buzz to please, put me down, it was embarrassing. While working at Harrah’s Tahoe, met Cher and shook her hand, I was living and working with Jeff Kutache’s Dancing Machine. Cher was very nice and polite. At Hilton’s Tahoe, met up with Bill Cosby and the Allman Brothers. My most memorable encounter was with Erin Moran as she was playing the slot machines. She asked me what slot machine was hot for winners. I pointed out a couple, she lost her money and she looked at me and said…”you liar!”
While I lived in Palm Springs for a while, I went to a night club and Dennis Farina sat next to me. Dennis was not a star yet and I told Dennis that I was applying for movie roles in Los Angeles and that I had the Guinness Book of World Records for Disco Dancing, in which I danced for 205 hours. I was sort of bragging and Dennis looked at me and said: “It looks like you have a foothold in the entertainment business, looks like you will make it!” Dennis said he was trying to break into the business too. Well, I never made it in Hollywood, but Dennis did. A few years later, I was watching Dennis on TV playing one of the Hillside Stranglers! Dennis who wasn’t a braggart makes it in the business and I didn’t. Oh well, serves me right. Well that is some of the encounters I had with various celebrities during my lifetime.
