I wasn't going to write this article, because this park is very close to my house, and I also want to give respect to the deceased and their families. So, therefore, I will not use the real names of the deceased and I will not use the real name of one of the witnesses. Rose Park is actually a very small park. I never could understand why this park was so popular. So many families and their kids come to this park and there are so many other parks that are much larger and prettier. Sometime in the late 90s and early 2000s, police were on a high-speed chase. The car that they were chasing parked on Moonlight Way and the passenger jumped out and hopped over my backyard fence. The suspect then climbed over my backyard brick wall and onto the street behind my house, which is Frye Creek. The police were closing in on the suspect and I was awakened at 3 a.m. with 3 police officers with flashlights in my backyard. The suspect ran over to Merwin F. Rose Park and then into my neighbor's backyard who lives next to the park.
The police confronted the suspect in my neighbor's backyard. The suspect holding a ceramic vase, threw the vase at the officer. The officer then opened fire and shot the suspect dead. This suspect was familiar with this area, because he would actually hang out at this park. That was the first death at this park. Wish Fire, our psychic medium, not knowing anything about this case, walked past this park and saw the ghost of the suspect. I was amazed at Wish Fire's description, because it was spot on, in describing the suspect that was shot dead in my neighbor's backyard. The reason why the police were chasing the suspect and his friend, is because they were in a stolen vehicle.
The next death at this park happened on April 4, 2022, at 2:48 p.m. Police officers responded to Merwin F. Rose Park for a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. The preliminary investigation revealed a 67-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle that veered off the road, while she was walking on the sidewalk next to Rose Park on Frye Creek Drive, just south of Deepdale Way. After hitting the woman, the vehicle drove through the park and then drove off. The vehicle and its driver were quickly located and detained a short distance away by responding officers. The location where the pedestrian was hit by the vehicle, there is now a memorial on a tree, filled with flowers. Wish Fire says she has seen the 67-year old woman walking all around the park. I tried to get some EVPs of the elderly woman and was unsuccessful, but to my surprise, I captured an EVP of a man saying "back off!" Could this be from the suspect that was shot in my neighbor's back yard? Then I discovered that a neighbor walking her dogs, was sitting in the grass at Rose Park and felt a gentle woman's hand on her shoulder. This neighbor was sitting next to the memorial. When this neighbor told me that story, it only confirms what Wish Fire was saying, the elderly woman that was hit by a vehicle, still haunts this park.
