Deer Dog of Keeler, California
By Paul Dale Roberts, HPI Monster Hunter
www.hpiparanormal.netHere is an email I just received:
“Hi my name is Jacob. I don’t know if you heard about the critter that has a face of a deer and has a body of a dog that was seen I believe in Nacogdoches, Texas. I saw a similar critter like that in Keeler, California in 1992. Keeler is in Inyo County. Me and my 3 hunting buddies saw this critter chasing a varmint. It was fast as a 5 dollar whore running out of the whore house on nickel night. I mean this critter was fast! Me and my buds called it a deer dog. America is a big place and I have a hard time believing all of the strange monsters that just keep popping up. Living in America is the place to be for some of your monster hunting. If you get down to Keeler, check out the area and you might come across the ‘deer dog’. I sure wish I knew what it was.”
Thank you Jacob. You are right, there are plenty of monsters in America. Living in America is the opportunity of a lifetime for all monster hunters. Ask Nick Redfern. Jacob, you just inspired me for the theme song for this article. Living in America by James Brown, heard here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKukOSBybywHere in America, monsters seem to be around every corner, we have Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Mothman, Sink Hole Sam, Thunderbirds, Batsquatch, Chupacabra and the list goes on and on.
Jacob, when sighting an unknown creature next time, try to collect dung samples and some hair samples for DNA testing. If you have some trap cameras, get those set up in case you can capture this creature via photography. It would have been nice to get some plaster of Paris impressions of the creature’s footprints. If you really want to know what this creature is, do your own investigating. If you saw one, there may be more out there. Jacob, make sure you and your friends keep your eyes and ears open. You one day may make the claim of discovering a new creature and wouldn’t that be a great achievement?
Just think the Okapi, native to the Ituri Rainforest in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa, was unknown to Europeans until 1901. This strange creature resembles a zebra, but is closely related to the giraffe. The Okapi at one time was a mere legend, an unknown monster. After it’s discovery, it’s no longer a monster, but a recognized animal that now numbers to 20,000 in the wild and displayed at 40 different worldwide institutions.
Another example of a legendary monster discovery is the prehistoric fish called the Coelacanth, that was discovered off the coast of Africa in 1938. We now know that this creature exists and it’s a monster no more.
Monsters are merely animals that have not been discovered yet. Your deer dog seems to be a very elusive creature and knows how to avoid man. It’s just a matter of time, before we find out exactly what kind of creature the ‘deer dog’ is.
Just think the discovery of the Mountain Gorilla took place in the Virunga Mountains, on October 17th, 1902, by Robert von Beringe. You think about it, that’s not a long time ago.
So, Jacob, take the initiative, get your friends together and find out what that deer dog is and give me a full report. I am ready to hear about your discovery!
