Comments: I absolutely love the action, it starts off right in the beginning in Northern Arabia 1908. Gunshots and plenty of ducking get this adventure moving. So many mysteries, twists and turns, you might get a nosebleed if you are not careful! As I move along the story I learn that possibly the Germans guard a secret base to attack the English at Basra. Anne Steelyard is an impressive heroine that stands tall against her enemies. Her enemies are many, but it does not thwart her quest for the mysterious city of Miyah. She is head strong and ambitious. Nothing can stand in the way of Anne Steelyard! Move aside Indiana Jones! Move aside Lorna, the Jungle Queen! Move aside Lara Croft! Move aside Allan Quatermain! Move aside Joan Wilder and Jack Colton of Romancing the Stone! You guys all look like cub scouts compared to Anne Steelyard! You have everything in this story. From adventure to the paranormal to action to mystery...what more could you ask for? Paranormal? Yep, especially when Al-Hakim teaches Anne Arabic and later teaches her how to astral project. When Anne astral projects there are certain dimensional gates that she faces and at each gate is a terrifying guardian that she must confront! More mysteries unfold as you learn that the German's secret defense that has kept the City of Miyah safe for centuries are dropping black pellets into the water. When this occurs you have an extreme poisonous gas. The ending has a tremendous surprise!! Anne Steelyard is a tremendous leap into adventure, I can only wonder if the reader can hold on? Shock full of surprises! I definitely could not put this comic book graphic novel down!
