Preparing for the Vampire Ball 2011

On this day, picked up my photographer Mark Greer of London Greer Photography and went over to Shannon ‘Ms. Macabre’ McCabe’s meeting with her preparation workers, actors and actresses for the upcoming Vampire Ball 2011, that will be held at the Crescent Club this year on October 22nd at 8pm!
I looked around and saw some familiar faces. Jewel Scott who performed in last year’s Vampire Ball as a dancer. This time she will be one of the actresses, she will be playing one of Dracula’s brides. Shannon was getting her cast and crew motivated and laying down the rules from everything on how to build a good reputation to being supportive and positive. She pin-points the importance of abiding to California ordinance laws, being open minded and reminding everyone that this is a charity event. Monies and proceeds will go into the hands of Romania’s Rolda.org. Shannon is a strong animal advocate for Rolda.org and has been doing this for many years now.
Rolda.org helps the stray hungry dogs that roam the streets of Romania and believe me there are many. When you think about it, Romania equals vampires equals Dracula and the theme of this Vampire Ball is Dracula through the ages.
Characters that Shannon is seeking out are: Nosferatu, Vlad the Impaler, Butthead Dracula (you know the Dracula with the huge white pompadour that looks like a huge butt), Bela Lugosi Dracula, Nina, Lucy, Jonathan Harker, Banshee, Zombie, Wolfman, Frankenstein, etc. Tom Presler of course with his Lodi Zombie Club is going to be the classic zombie. Other actresses I saw sitting anxiously at the meeting were Regina Tellez, Ann Olson-Dupire, Carol Gillis aka the Queen Vampiress. Mark Greer and Judy Raderchak in the capacity of freelance journalists were busy snapping photos here and there.
Shannon continues her briefing and talks about how there will be 3 bars, getting props together such as tombstones, cobwebs, fog machine, various lighting, dungeon, strait jackets. She also mentions that DJ Bryan Hawk (of Club Asylum) who has been DJing for 20 years will take care of one dance floor while possibly Michaelis Jacoby from Los Angeles will take care of another dance area. Michaelis is my nephew and he performs not only in Los Angeles, but also in Moscow, Russia. There will be gothic music, Lady Gaga, Keish, Katy Perry and everything else that has a dancing beat resonating through the whole Vampire Ball 2011. Yolanda Fowler and Francine will be assisting Shannon in getting this gala event together. 450 people showed up at last year’s event and we are expecting more.
If you decide to go to the Vampire Ball 2011 this year make sure to stop by the HPI (Haunted and Paranormal Investigations International) sponsored room! Be prepared for a lot of dancing, celebrating and some good scary performances by our vampire actors and actresses!! It will be a night you will never forget!
