Judy Checks Out the Upcoming 2011 Vampire Ball

Tonight I went to River City Saloon for a meeting about the upcoming event for The Vampire Ball. The Vampire Ball started 3 years ago with Shannon McCabe. Shannon introduced us all to this amazing event. The event is takes place in October of every year and all of the proceeds go to her organization, which helps neglected and abused animals find good happy healthy homes. The Vampire Ball will be on October 22, 2011 at 8pm.
There will be live actors and actresses playing roles of Dracula themed characters.
Interview with the Actors
What is your name and what was last year’s theme for the Vampire Ball?
Answer: My name is Nathan Prayer and last year’s theme for the Ball was True Blood.
Were you an actor at the Vampire Ball last year and if so what was your character?
Answer: Yes I was an actor last year and loved it! I played one of the werewolves in the group.
What is one of your favorite characters in True Blood?
Answer: Oh I would have to say Eric and Pam. Probably more Pam because she is so sarcastic and is a lot like me.
What prepared you for the role last year?
Answer: I have always loved werewolves and vampires. I really enjoyed dressing in different costumes and playing a specific character. I have had lots of practice acting because of the many different characters I play in the Renaissance Fair.
What made you decide to be an actor?
Answer: Well when I was a child my family and parents were very religious and we never got to dress up for Halloween. I missed out, so maybe you can say I’m making up for lost fun. I think it is fun and wonderful to be around so many other talented people.
What will you be this year at the Vampire Ball?
Answer: I will be a character from “Queen of the Damned”. That's if I can, but if not I will definitely be Dracula himself.

What is your name?
Answer: My name is Joseph
Were you an actor and what part did you play last year?
Answer: No, I was not an actor but my friend was the actor. I have never gone and he had invited me to go so I thought well everyone is going to be the characters from True Blood and I wanted to be different. I have never really watched the show before but I was a big fan of the old show The Munsters. So I went as a guest with my friend and was Grandpa Munster, he’s called that but he’s not really a monster because he is dressed like Dracula.
What made you want to attend the Vampire Ball with your friend?
Answer: I have always been very intrigued by the supernatural ever since I was 12 years old. I was inspired at a young age when I saw “Fright Night” It was so real and scary. I also loved to watch “The Munsters”. I then saw Anthony Hopkins role in Dracula with Gary Oldman and was in love with vampires movies ever since.

What is your Name?
Answer: Tom Presler
Were you an actor at last year’s ball and if so who were you?
Answer: Yes, I was an actor last year and I played the role of Magnus the Master of all Vampires.
Who will you be this year and why did you choose that specific character?
Answer: I am so very excited this year because I got to be Fudd Zombie and I love zombies. The reason I chose this character is because I am the creator of the “Zombie Club”. I have played a zombie before for the “Night of the Living Dead” for a theater production and have been apart of the Zombie Walk in Lodi.
What got you started acting for the Vampire Ball?
Answer: I love acting and enjoy playing different characters. I feel as if I am a character myself! As a child I thought it was so interesting how George A Romero was a philosopher and did social commentary about specific events such as war and consumerism in his movies, he is an amazing inspiration.
Are you excited about this year’s Vampire Ball?
Answer: Never before have I been this excited because I love the Vampire Ball! I feel as if my blood is boiling waiting for the day in October!
After the meeting at River City Saloon we headed down J Street for Shannon McCabe’s musical talents at the very lively Shenanigans. There were many talented singers and comedians that go to their Wednesday’s Funtastic night, a place where you can be yourself. Eric the owner was also bartender who was very nice. Because our group had been planning the Vampire Ball they had used” Vampire” as their word of the night. Any time anyone said “Vampire” we would all scream. It was a crazy fun time at Shenanigans and I am sure I will be back there again soon.

Thursday, July 28, 2011: On this day Katya Belinksky, Psychic Artist did a body aura reading on two ladies that came to my home. One of the ladies, named Amber Morris was commenting on how accurate Katya is. Katya was able to detect Amber's deceased grandmother and both of them felt a surge of energy go through their hands, so much so..that they started to tremble.
