Interview with Deanna Bailey, Paranormal Experiencer

www.hpiparanormal.netQuestion: Tell me something personal about yourself. Your family life, your hobbies, schools you went to, your recreational activities.
Answer: Besides ghost hunting, I love to work with my hands...I make everything from custom personalized names to wreaths. I am also an extreme beach/ocean lover, I would spend all my time at the beach if I could. There is just something about watching the waves come crashing onto the sand and the rocks that just mesmerizes me.
Question: Tell me about your very first paranormal experience.
Answer: I experienced my very first paranormal event when I was about 14 years old. I was looking through the family photo album when I came across a photo that had a full body apparition standing in the doorway of the coat closet. I asked my mother about the photo and she dismissed it as a "double exposure" but I believed otherwise...
Question: Have you had other paranormal experiences and if you did, can you describe them in detail?
Answer: Yes. I lived in a beautiful home in San Francisco for 5 years with my ex-boyfriend and during that time, there were some events that unfolded, unlike anything I had ever experienced before. The home was built in the late 1920's and was left to my ex-boyfriend when his parents passed away. I learned my ex-boyfriend's father passed away in the master bedroom that we occupied and also found out that his grandmother passed away in the living room. The activity always happened when my ex-boyfriend would leave for the weekend...pictures would fall off walls and shelves when there was no breeze going through the house, the TV in the living room would turn on by itself after I specifically remember turning it off before bed. There is, to this day, a Quija board in one of the upstairs bedrooms that my ex-boyfriend played with as a child. The room that its in is always very cold unlike the rest of the house. There is also a sewing room off of this bedroom that is even colder and the air is different. I truly believe that his parents are still in that home and I also believe that there may be others...
Question: What are your thoughts on the afterlife? Do you believe ghosts actually exist?
Answer: I believe that when we die, we ultimately either go to heaven or hell depending on certain decisions made during our lives. Yes, I believe that ghosts exist.
Question: Do you enjoy working as a paranormal investigator for HPI (Haunted and Paranormal Investigations International)?
Answer: Yes, I love working as a paranormal investigator because I have always had a strong interest in ghost activity and I look forward to the experiences I will have.
Question: What cases have you worked on with HPI?
Answer: I have worked on 4 cases so far....Cameron Park, Concord, Rancho Cordova, and Cloverdale.
Question: Why do you think ghosts have not passed on to the other realm, what keeps some ghosts here in our own reality?
Answer: I think ghosts reside among us for several reasons. They may not realize they have passed away, maybe they weren't ready to die, they may have had unfinished business, or they remain here to protect their loved ones.
Question: What movies, TV shows, books do you enjoy?
Answer: I like all sorts of movies...comedy, mystery, drama, horror (American Pie, What Lies Beneath, Poltergeist, The Ring). I don't watch much TV but when I do, it's usually comedies (Golden Girls, Til Death) but I also like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation/Las Vegas and things of that nature. My book collection consists of a lot of self-improvement and also true stories as is the case with the most recent book I purchased (The Jaycee Lee Dugard Story).
Question: If you were on a deserted island, what 3 things would you bring and why?
Answer: I would bring soap, a jacket, and my camera. The soap to keep clean and fresh, the jacket to keep me warm and cozy, and the camera to take photos of the beautiful ocean and surrounding area.
Question: If you had 6 dinner guests, 3 historical and 3 fictional, who would they be and why?
Answer: Helen Keller, Babe Ruth, Margaret "Molly" Brown, Indiana Jones, Mary Poppins, and last but certainly not least Captain Jack Sparrow. The first three I chose because I think they all have one hell of a story to tell and the last three, well, I can't help but wonder what tricks Mary Poppins would pull out of her carpet bag to keep us all entertained, Indiana Jones who wouldn't want a strong, rugged man who knows how to use a whip, and Captain Jack as we all know is a fine ladies man...I'll leave the rest up to your imagination!
