Cheri Foote's Hotel Ledger Story

www.hpiparanormal.netMy husband and I currently live in Mount Vernon, Washington and were visiting my son and family who lived in Mokelumne Hill, Ca at the time.
My husband and I were intrigued by the history of the Hotel and it's very interesting history. We stayed in two adjacent rooms that I think was rooms 10 and 11 or possibly 11 and 12 at The western two front adjacent rooms. My husband enjoys photography as a hobby. I entertained myself reading about the ghost stories. In each room and the history of the hotel.
One night we discovered we had been left alone in the hotel. No other guests were there either. My husband said he had noticed that the bed in the room next to ours had been made up by the maid. Later he noticed that all the bedding had been pulled off and was laying on the floor at the foot of the bed. My husband took out his camera and took a picture of the chandelier and he noticed an odd thing. The camera focused on something between him and the chandelier. The chandelier was blurred on this image. He came to get me and after realizing we were alone in the hotel we went room to room with his camera. I noticed a few odd happenings in our rooms as well. We had gotten a large photograph of our family who lived in the area. I saw a light moving around the photograph and then back again. Our room to room exploration did not show anything Out of the ordinary. We then went downstairs towards the saloon. The door was locked, so he took pictures through the door window. We saw unusual lights that got dimmer and brighter in the windows of the saloon. We also saw several orbs both in the upstairs breakfast area and near the saloon and the ballroom area which was also locked.
While taking pictures of the saloon we saw what appeared to be a man's hand wearing what appeared to be a wedding ring on his middle finger between the camera and the door window! It was as if someone was curious as to what we were doing there. We weren't afraid but we felt like we were not alone and someone was curious to what we were doing there!
My husband then took another picture of the chandelier and this time it focused normally on the chandelier.
The next day we went exploring in the back yard and the outbuildings in the rear yard. We noticed the caretaker's room was open we entered the room. No one appeared to be there, but I noticed a glass filled with a drink and ice cubes. The room appeared to be clean, the bed made and the kitchen was clean. The only thing I found a bit unusual was that the ice cubes had not melted at all, even though we did not see anyone in the area.
Unfornately we can't find the video that we took at the time. We showed our family members the video and they agreed that we had indeed experienced a paranormal event. They also saw the hand with the ring on the middle finger on the video and agreed that we had truly experienced a paranormal event. They also saw the video of the light that appeared to move around the photograph and had no explanation for this! They also noticed several vague white figures or possible orbs especially in the saloon!
I just thought I would share our experiences during our stay at the Hotel Ledger in 2008.

INTERVIEWING POTENTIAL CLIENTS
May 27, 2012, Sunday: Today I had two clients to interview. Both clients want an investigation conducted at their homes. The first client was Victoria ‘Viki’ Cecchettini/Jordan. We met up at Starbucks – at 1429 Broadway, Sacramento. She has a simple story. She lives in Carmichael and feels that a woman died in the back bedroom. She has seen the full body apparition of this woman and wants validation of this haunting. The entity is harmless, a benevolent entity. Something I would call a ‘Casper Haunting’. The next client Carolyn Deane and her brother took me into a whole new realm. I felt like I stepped into the Twilight Zone with a dash of the X-Files. I met Carolyn and her brother at Starbucks – 5539 H Street, Sacramento. With the amount of time and money I spend at Starbucks, I should be a co-owner of this establishment…just sayin’.
Now to this second esoteric interview. Carolyn and her brother relate the following. Now, prepare to hold onto your seat, this is going to be one wild ride.
Carolyn and her brother live with their sister in Rocklin. Carolyn’s brother did some whistle blowing on three Native Indian tribes. The tribes are the Navajo, Cree and Chippewa. He claims that he discovered that there was various rituals that these tribes perform that involve pedophile practices. Because he did some whistle blowing on these tribes, they cursed him and the home where he now lives with his two sisters. The Indian tribes brought on the Menehune (from Hawaiian mythology). Now wait a minute, how did three American Indian tribes have connections to the Menehune? According to the brother, the Menehune were living at the Foothill Hotel (in the surrounding hillside). The Menehune that look like Polynesian elves have now entered a portal into their home and cause all kinds of mischief.
Carolyn calls one the Big Kingpin and says that he has a Hawaiian white feather on his ankle and is seen beating and tormenting a child. Carolyn says that they have a real monster problem. She calls the Menehune that reside in her home as ‘pornography midgets’ because they take off their clothes and run around the house naked and body write on the female Menehune. Okay readers, is this story getting stranger by the minute? It gets weirder. The Menehune will lay on Carolyn and weigh her body down on the bed, where she can’t get up. These Menehune midgets will constantly harass the family for money and food. Carolyn and her family have lived in this home for 5 years and the torment continues. They are asking for an investigation, seeking validation and a cleansing. My paranormal community friends, at times I get normal requests, other times I get requests that are definitely beyond the norm.
The 2nd interview was way beyond the norm. I am still trying to figure out how American Native Indians have that connection with the Menehune? I was happy to get away from Carolyn and her brother and join Shannon McCabe and her friends at Old Sacramento, Delta King, the Blue Moon, Evangelines, kicking it at the wharf and chowing down on some beef gyros from the Gyro Supreme / Downtown Plaza. The girls ended the day, by taking off their shoes, sitting on the wharf and placing their feet into the Sacramento River. To see pictures from this day, stop by here:
