Interview with Kate Song – Entrepreneur of Katey's Kandles

Question: Tell me something about yourself. You practice a martial art, what kind of martial arts do you practice? What are your hobbies and recreational activities? Tell us about your family life.
Answer: I have been practicing Aikido since 2003 and this art teaches people to be able to take care of themselves with out causing harm to anyone else.
I am a teacher in training and I love working with kids of all ages, I consider myself a big kid. I have a younger brother who is in college and one older sister who lives in San Diego. I have three cat kids and I have a love for animals, all three of my cats were rescued from the animal shelter.
Question: You are in the business of making candles. Can you tell us how you got into this business?
Answer: I love aromatherapy and I love candles, I discovered it by accident through experimenting with aromatherapy and making candles.
Question: What kind of candles do you sell? What kind of scents do they have?
Answer: The candles are made from Soy Bean Oil and they burn clean and last longer than paraffin candles. We carry a variety of scents from Lavender, Rosemary Lavender, Orange Vanilla, Jasmine and Tea leaves, Lemongrass and Goddess (vanilla and tamarind) and many more. The scents we use are high quality essential oils for candles. Did you know that one candle can scent a room of up to 2500 square feet?
Question: Besides having a nice scent in your home with your candles and having a romantic ambiance, what other purposes can your candles be used for?
Answer: These candles can be used on your skin as a lotion or massage oil! They are beneficial for skin conditions such as eczema, arthritis, psoriasis and more..
Also they keep bad spirits away.
Question: Since I am a paranormal investigator, what do you mean, they can keep bad spirits away? Please explain.
Answer:
Well simply put the bad spirits do not like the scents, so it drives them away.
I recently shared a booth with Merly Shwetzer/Metaphysical Cleanser/Psychic from United Wellness she does body talk where she removes entities from people. During the three days several candles were literally flying off the shelf and breaking out of the blue we consulted a psychic who informed us of the fact the spirits did not like the aroma from the candles leaving them no where to go.
Question: One more question about the paranormal, have you ever had a paranormal experience?
Answer: Two experiences that I can recall. One is when I was in high school and living with my mom I was reading the bible and after I turned out the lights I saw what looked like a white light or a spirit. I was really scared by it.
Another time we were meditating at New School Aikido and even though my eyes we’re closed I saw someone standing in the corner next to me. There were other students who also reported seeing people standing in the corners of dojo. It was a comforting feeling not a scary one.
Question: You are involved with Mastery of Women, can you tell me your position and what you do for the group?
Answer: Of course! I am a lead director for the group and this group is a calling for all women of all ages and stages in their lives to share and support each other!
Question: Since Stockton went bankrupt, what are you doing for your community?
Answer: I ask everyone to find a way to make a positive difference here in the community. I donate a portion of sales from my candles back to the community to animal shelters and women’s shelters.
Also there is a group I am passionate about, it’s called H.O.P.E. Helping Other People Expand. They help people get on their feet finding jobs and be successful, They have joined forces with Families Against Gang Violence and they are putting a fair at the Boys and Girls Club. New School Aikido has joined in on this movement and we’re raffling off free lessons and doing a demonstration at the event Saturday June 30th at the Boys and Girls Club.
I desire to be an instrument for change in making the community a better and brighter place to be one way is through Aikido and teaching others that violence is NOT the answer!
Question: So the readers can get to know you better, what movies, TV shows and books do you like?
Answer: I love books about self improvement and anything business related. I love all kinds of music from classical, jazz to rock. My favorite T.V. Shows are shows about ghost hunting and paranormal experiences, Myth Busters and also a Masterpiece Classic Downton Abbey. Movies are: Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
I love Mel Brooks movies and movies with Gene Wilder are so great.
Question: If you had 6 dinner guests, 3 historical and 3 fictional, who would they be and why?
Answer: Historical: Mozart, Bach, and Morihei Ueshiba (the founder of Aikido)
Not sure about fictional but to be fun even though they’re not fictional how about the guys from the T.V. show Myth Busters?

Answer: Words of wisdom…….. Do not judge a person by their looks. Look at their actions…

YARD SALE GHOST ATTACK BY BELINDA BENTLEY:
Keri from Illinois has been renting the apartment for eight month, but the paranormal activity started two weeks ago.That's why she called HPI Paranormal. She brought home new items from a free give away at a yard sale a few days before the haunting began. To make extra money she sells things she doesn't want or can't use, but a bottle of cologne that looks like an Indian head she get rid of along with a ring and some pictures. They creeped her out, so she didn't sell them, although pretty much everything else stayed. I asked if there were any antiques in the stuff she got. She said "There is a little container, with blue and gold marking and it looks European, but I don't know what it is." It was on the table, she explains to me, but when she came back home it was on the floor.
She told me she wished she was making it up, but she isn't. The same day that she had a Catholic father come in to do a blessing, she had a glass fly across the room and was hurled at her. She always feels as if she is being watched now. She can't get incoming calls and text messages for the past few weeks either. Emails are being deleted, that she is not deleting. Her arms have bruises on them and finger print marks that disappear. They appear when she wakes up, like someone did something to her when she was sleeping. The prints are smaller than her hand. Keri has scratches on her body as well. A normal assumption could be the person she sleeps with or a boyfriend, but she lives alone.
Our client was also told by a paranormal team not to talk to psychics because they draw their information from the devil. Not sure where this PI team got their information, but they are wrong. However she is still willing to listen to my advice which is take the item she has and put it in the car for the night. If she wakes up with no marks it's likely that it's the item she has causing this haunting. If it is, I will walk her through another process to get rid of the item and clear the house.
A few moments ago she called one of my G.H.O.S.T team members and left a message for me. She wants to know if this could be caused by a neighbor of hers that overdosed and died. It could be, though that isn't my feeling. She would have to be extremely angry and vengeful to want to create that type of harm to Keri. My experience of overdose victims are usually sad spirits or happy because they are free from life and it's addictions and ready to get things right on the other side or ready to come back and try again (reincarnation).
I'll stay updated with Keri to see what happens with the items. Case remains open. Case Number: 4TUZ622
