Cold Springs Cemetery: Placerville

August 4, 2012, Saturday: I had the privilege of being invited to a very wonderful BBQ in Placerville on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Mention of a cemetery nearby prompted me and my friend's attention. Off we traveled to check it out. Upon arrival at the cemetery, I felt very peaceful. As we approached the entrance gate, a woman greeted us and told us not to smoke near the graves as it is very dry and can cause a major fire being out in such an open wooded area.
We thanked her for informing us and I asked if she lived nearby. She happened to live right next door to the cemetery. When asked if there were any peculiar things that went on there, she said that out of the past eighteen years she has lived there that all was peaceful and quiet. No restless spirits roaming around there, however, I did ask a few more questions for “Susan”, and found that there were a couple of beautiful stories involved with this cemetery as well.
The ground in this cemetery is very soft to tread upon. I found out that mother deer come to have their offspring there and tend to hide their young in this peaceful little cemetery. There are approximately 75 graves at the Cold Springs Cemetery. They were all transferred over to this land some time ago. When asked about the deaths, we were told by Susan that most of the deaths were during the pioneer trail days. Susan went on to tell us that there was one lone grave that was not transferred to the Cold Springs Cemetery. It was a woman’s lone grave. It was not moved because it was at the request of an anonymous gentleman.
He made stipulations that her grave stay under the oak tree and never to be disturbed. I asked if this was the husband or family member of the woman and was told there was no relation. As the story unfolded, this woman’s husband had died and she was a widower. During her lifetime, the anonymous gentleman always made certain that the woman was financially taken care of unbeknownst to her. He obviously knew that no matter how much he loved her, he could never have her heart because it belonged to only one man, and so he spent the rest of his life “loving” her from afar. Such a haunting love story……"
A MESSAGE FROM PAUL DALE ROBERTS:
Thank you Kara for telling us this story. This cemetery was very tranquil and peaceful. Most cemeteries I have been to, there is no activity, but there are those few that do have some activity. I can only wonder if all of the entities have moved onto the light or what Jon theorizes that perhaps only the tombstones and grave markers were moved and the bodies of the deceased were left at the original cemetery. I recently received a report that Jon's theory may be correct because at the location of the original cemetery, people claim there is activity. I only can hope that this theory and these reports are incorrect. If they are correct, we may need to investigate further and find out the truth about Cold Springs Cemetery. This case is pending further clarification.

JAMES RUBINO BIO for HPI CHRONICLES VOL III - BEYOND THE NORM
James Rubino (aka, the good “J.R.”) is a single father who works full-time, raises two beautiful children (Alisa and James 2.0) “on his lonesome”, and somehow still arises long before dawn to gleefully devote himself to his (often-futile) hobby of creating original fantasy comic books such as Yumishira- Oriental Space Lily and the science fiction anthology series Tales From The Seventh Galaxy (among others!).
He manages his own website (
www.jamesrubino.com) a Facebook page (James Rubino Comics) and once-in-a-blue-moon actually gets paid to create artwork or product designs for various clients!
He loves to read, draw, watch funny movies with his kids, cook, garden and go for walks.
He collects lighthouses, loves all things Aurora, and occasionally mines for cheap copies of old comic books on Ebay!
…And if you’re reading this he thanks you for taking the time and having the interest!

Smokin' BBQ at Wendy Williams' Home and Cold Springs Cemetery Investigation:
https://s970.photobucket.com/albums/ae185/PaulDaleRoberts55/BBQNearColdSpringsCemetery/August 4, 2012, Saturday: HPI Paranormal Investigators Present for Cold Springs Cemetery Investigation: Tuesday Rubsam - Security/Lead Investigator; Jon Rubsam - Psychic; Chantal Apodaca - HPI Assistant Manager - Psychic; Capone Bender - Sketch Artist; Paul Dale Roberts - HPI Owner; Ivy Rubsam; Shannon McCabe - 2012 Vampire Ball Coordinator; Patrick Newton; Shari Aresta - Lead Investigator; Deanna Bailey - Lead Investigator/Sensitive; Jon Koyasako - Security - Lead Investigator; Kara Koyasako - Sensitive. Note: Jon, Kara, Chantal, Deanna rode with me to the cemetery. Deanna & Kara interviewed a woman that lives next door to this cemetery and she tells us that 75 people are buried here, that they were relocated to this location. The cemetery was founded in the 1800s. She experiences no paranormal activity in the cemetery or her home. Most of the people buried here are children. My guess is that everyone in this cemetery either went to the light or as Jon Rubsam theorizes that they may have not been moved at all and only the tombstones were brought over to the cemetery. Kara learned a unique story about this cemetery and she will be writing about it later for a future article. No EVPs were captured and there was no anomalies in our photos. Case Pending. Wendy Williams hosted the HPI Smokin' BBQ at her home, tons of food, music, adult beverages, games, horses and many people brought their dogs! Fun times! Special Note: Chantal Apodaca when trying to pet the horses, received a shock from the electric fence. When Chantal jumped in my car to head back to the BBQ from the cemetery, almost fell out of my car. This was not Chantal's lucky day.
