Comments: Ghost Hunters will find this book as a valuable tool for their investigations. Brad talks about the haunted house he moved into, in the year of 1973. As many seasoned ghost hunters know, that when you renovate a home, activity increases. It appears that the ghost became feisty when Brad started updating the home with indoor plumbing, modern toilets and a variety of electrical appliances. Ghostly attacks ensued. As Brad explains the story, the chills can be felt up and down my spine. Brad talks about the Dancing Ghost of Orensburg. The occupant Shchapoff cannot understand the strange dancing sounds that resonate through his house in the province of Uralsk in Russia. Dancing sounds that happen in the bedroom and when he opens the door, his wife is soundly asleep, then explosive knocks are heard, that scare his wife Helena. It causes such a disturbance that Shchapoff walks around the home to investigate with a pistol in hand. At some point of time in this haunting, Mrs. Shchapoff becomes a pillar of fire, she receives the worse of the ghostly attacks. These are some of the ghost stories that you will receive in this book, some that will chill you to the bone and others that I call ‘Casper Hauntings’. Such is the case of the ‘An Encounter with a Hugging Ghost’. In this story, Brad tells us how in the 1930s a small boy was playing with his emotionally disturbed brother and was accidently pushed down the stairs and died. This child that haunts this home has no ill will and actually goes up behind the construction worker and lays on a big warm hug. Simple things happen such as tools are missing, tiny patter of feet are heard running up and down the stairs, window shades pulled down, personal belongings are left in an array, upsetting the owner. The owner blames the construction workers and the construction workers leave this home with a job uncompleted. Other very interesting and historical stories include George Washington’s encounter with a spirit and George Washington as a ghost. You also get some legendary ghost stories such as Lady of the Lake – White Rock Lake, Texas; Misty Miss Latta on Arkansas 64; Benjamin ‘Bugsy’ Siegel Still Haunts the Flamingo and one of my all time favorites..the talking weasel story. If you don’t know this story, Brad explains it in detail in this book, one of the most fascinating paranormal cases of all time. In this book, you get the best of the best. This is a good ‘bible’ for any ghost hunter. This is a book you can reference your own cases with and find a story that is similar and see if the case was resolved or not resolved. Brad Steiger has been investigating paranormal phenomenon since 1958. As a ghost hunter, before you watch a ghost hunting reality show looking for answers, you should be looking for the answers in a Brad Steiger book. If you want seasoned, Brad is the true seasoned investigator and shares his insights in strange phenomenon that he has encountered. I truly recommend this book!
