The mansion was a gift from oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny to his son. In 1971, the Greystone Mansion became a city park and has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. The mansion is also used in the TV and movie genre. The mansion has a descending staircase that has been used in dozens of movies and TV shows. If you are a person that loves crossovers, then you will love the way certain TV shows and movies crossover with Greystone Mansion. For example. What do Arrow, Alias, Dark Shadows, Ghostbusters and Garfield have in common? Answer: Greystone Mansion was featured in all of those shows. So in a way, it’s a crossover of sorts. All of these shows have crossed over via Greystone Mansion.
Greystone Mansion is a smorgasbord of horrific deaths, making this mansion one of the most haunted mansions in the world. In 1978, I visited Greystone Mansion with a psychic cousin. My cousin from Anaheim and I, were sitting outside of Greystone Mansion. I was fascinated with this mansion, because I heard the stories of its ghosts. As I was talking to my cousin, he started yelling. I asked him what he was yelling about and he said his back was raked 3 times with sharp fingernails. Of course, I didn’t believe him, but when he raised up his shirt, he has scratch marks running up and down his back. He told me that he saw a ghostly elderly woman with an evil smile, wearing a blue long dress. I was staying with my cousin in Anaheim and tried out for the Gong Show and American Bandstand. I was a professional dancer at the time. I got to be in a couple of commercials and that’s about it. I knew it was time to head home. On the last night at my cousin’s house, he screamed in the middle of the night, around 1:00 a.m. I asked him what was wrong and he told me that the ghostly elderly woman that he encountered at Greystone Mansion followed him home and attacked him again. He makes claim that the ghostly elderly woman sat on his chest and was trying to take his breath away. My cousin’s father was a preacher and blessed him and prayed over him. The entity finally left. GHOST IDENTIFIED: GREYSTONE BACK RAKER.

On February 16, 1929, four months after Ned Doheny, his wife Lucy and their five children moved into Greystone, Ned died in a guest bedroom in a murder-suicide with his secretary, Hugh Plunket. The official story indicated Plunket murdered Ned either because of a "nervous disorder" or inflamed with anger over not receiving a raise. Others point out that Ned's gun was the murder weapon and that Ned was not buried in Los Angeles' Calvary Cemetery, a Catholic cemetery, with the rest of his family, indicating that he had committed suicide.
There is a lot of mystery that surrounds this supposed murder-suicide. There have been witnesses that see a pool of blood on the floor. As soon as they see this pool of blood, it disappears instantly. The ghosts of Ned Doheny and Hugh Plunket have been seen in this mansion. GHOSTS IDENTIFIED: NED DOHENY AND HUGH PLUNKET.
A ghost hunting group called L.A.S.H. (Looking for Apparitions and Seeking Hauntings) said they captured many EVPs. Some of the EVPs said: “Misery is all mine.” “Death follows.” “Go to Hell.” LASH claims the EVPs were Class A EVPs. LASH also states that they came upon some photographic anomalies that show what looks like shadow people. They said when the shadow figures appeared in their pictures that one of the investigators felt a hand on her neck. Her neck was squeezed 3 times. This investigator was so scared, that she is no longer a ghost hunter. Special Note: 4 Shadow People were detected. ENTITIES IDENTIFIED: GREYSTONE SHADOW PEOPLE
