Moon Fire
Glowing wishes
Made from skeleton lanterns
And fireflies
Decorate the surface
Of the moon
Like a whisper
A tone
Set high
Falling low
To Earth
And lighting up
The sky
pure white
forever
Angelic
and divine
Causing me to dance
and return the fire
Set upon my eyes
Made from light
& the tears I cried
Every time
Moon Fire: Moon Goddess Legends
The spiritual energy of the moon has been represented and celebrated throughout time by several different groups of people, cultures & religions worldwide. In our culture, the moon has a feminine energy, but can be represented by either. The moon is traditionally thought of as the counterpart to the sun and in the light alone, is recorded very valuable sacred information. The sun is highly associated with masculine energies, such as Jesus and various other religious icons.
Information that is gathered from the universe and projected into our subconscious, seemingly unaware is known as downloads- channeling or interpreting light codes in such various ways mentioned in tales as folklore, fantasy stories, the bible, songs, poetry, dreams and more. It is thought that much of the spirit world can be translated this way. There is even thought to be various angelic languages, which cannot be pronounced by the tounge, but only felt and understood.
The moon not only inspires beauty and love within the eyes that withhold her, but darkness as well. The moon allows us to release our inhibitions and be more than human- something supernatural and ethereal. The moon allows us to fantasize and dream, stealing sacred visions from Heaven and Hell and using alchemy to turn them into gold. The moonlight is a holy energy which can escape not only from our galaxy, but many others as well.
Moon Fire : Moon Goddess Legends
Artemis
Artemis is the Greek mythology presentation of the moon fire of energy that is living through our people. In this culture, she represents hunting, wisdom, arts & crafts, and virgin hood- or being celibate or chaste in order to bring closer union with the purity of Heaven. Artemis is so legendary and the energy is still so very relevant that there are still statues and marble carvings everywhere of her, from Las Vegas hotel lobbies to the most prestigious museums, even the Vatican itself houses valuable art of the most famous goddesses.
Artemis someway morphed also into a Roman goddess of the moon- named Diana. She became very popular and widespread even into the regions of Greece and throughout the world as well. The spelling of her name is also transformed many times throughout history, from Inanna the Queen of Heaven to various other Sumerian names and ancient records - always carrying the anna or ana, always representing Heaven and a spiritual purity that is secretive and occult. Even the word anorexia is a derivative of this, from the Latin names for desire- which essentially the moon is like a skeleton- barren and dry, void of worldly desires, such as food... like a skeleton in the sky.
Moon Goddess Legends
Luna
Luna is the deity that represents the moon in Roman history. Her image is sometimes multiplied in triplicities, much like other sacred deities- to represent the youth, the maiden and the crone usually, but can even be found in Christian theology as well, representing God as the creator, destroyer - the father, son and holy ghost. The point of multiplying energy in triplicities is because that is how time is shown- past, present and future, and recorded in our minds as such.
A lunar deity is a personification of the divine energy of spirit- which is shown through our planets, stars, and the movement of the holy objects around us everyday. The moon fascinates us, as it protects the Earth from debris and glows in a natural way- which is spellbinding. The moon deity has and will continue to be woven into stories of the Earth, the spirituality of feminine beauty, dreams, the divine and paranormal.
Selene
Selene is another very popular moon goddess in philosophy and history. She represents the energy, just as well as the others, but hers is more outlined by the touch of floral beauty, moon light and graceful feminity, wrapped and tied into fashion, love and sacred bonds. She, as well as the other lunar deities- have brothers or male counterparts- who represent the sun. The sol mate, or soul for example, as always the secret is in the name, the words we speak and the energy we project outwards.
The most romantic story told about Selene is when she fell in love with the mortal Endymion. They wished to be together, but because he was mortal, he was cast into an eternal sleep- where he lives in a euphoric dream world with her. In classical times, she was tied with Artemis, much as her brother, Helios, was twisted with Apollo. Selene and Artemis are also associated with Hecate and all three are known as goddesses, but only Selene was regarded as the personification of the Moon itself. Her Roman equivalent is Luna.
