The Dunsmuir Tree Goblin case is a confidential case. I will call the client Mrs. Satch, which is not her real name. The reason why this case is confidential is that the town of Dunsmuir is a small town, and all of the residents know each other. Mrs. Satch does not want to be identified and become the laughingstock of her community. I can respect that. Mrs. Satch says that she and her husband have been terrorized by what she calls a tree goblin. Mrs. Satch says that the tree goblin is very short, maybe 2 feet high, has sharp teeth and branches growing out of its head. Mrs. Satch says that the goblin might be some kind of demon. I had my forensic sketch artist Richard Vasseur draw the creature from Mrs. Satch's description. Mrs. Satch says for a period of two years, this creature has been peeking through her windows. The creature has also managed to find his way into the attic and makes a lot of noise. Mrs. Satch's husband opened up the attic door and this creature jumped out at him. Mrs. Satch's husband fell off the ladder and injured himself. There have been times that this goblin has appeared at the foot of the bed around 3am or 4am, just looking at Mrs. Satch and her husband. Mrs. Satch became desperate when the goblin creature attacked one of her dogs. The dog that was injured, had scratch marks on the side of his stomach. When this happened, is when Mrs. Satch decided to call Halo Paranormal Investigations. She had enough of this goblin creature. Dunsmuir is 3 hours and 48 minutes away from my home in Elk Grove. I asked my wife Deanna Jaxine Stinson aka Wish Fire if she wanted to do a road trip to Dunsmuir. Wish Fire says..."why not?"

This case occurred in 2023, but I will not disclose the month or the day, because Mrs. Satch feels that would pinpoint the investigation at her home. Mrs. Satch also requested that we do not drive to her home with our "got ghosts? car magnets". I did some researching about the history of Dunsmuir and learned that three indigenous people lived in this area as far back as 5000 years ago. The last indigenous tribes that lived in this area were the Okwanuchu tribe. Legend has it that when the US Army settled in Dunsmuir in the 1820s, they fed the Okwanuchu tribe poisoned beef. There is no evidence that this legend is true. Hunters and trappers coming up from the Siskiyou trail settled in at Dunsmuir. The California Gold Rush brought in more settlers. Dunsmuir started growing and before you knew it, they were building a toll bridge and stagecoach hotel during the 1850s. The Central Pacific Railroad helped a lot in bringing more settlers into the region.

In 1888, Alexander Dunsmuir, who is the second son of British Columbian coal baron Robert Dunsmuir came through Dunsmuir and admired the beauty of this town. He loved the beauty so much, he offered to donate a beautiful fountain for the town, if they would name the town Dunsmuir. The townsfolk agreed to the offer. Some dark history of this town happened on July 1935. Two criminals shot and killed police chief F.R. "Jack" Daw and wounded a CHP officer. One of the criminals named Clyde Johnson was taken to the Yreka jail. The Dunsmuir Vigilantes went up to Yreka and broke Clyde out and lynched him in the town of Dunsmuir. This was the last lynching performed in California.

THE INVESTIGATION/CLEANSING
Wish Fire did a walk through and detected a presence. The presence she picked up on was a young woman, not a goblin. Wish Fire feels the young woman was a wife of a trapper and that she had died at a young age of cancer. I did several EVP sessions and did not get any EVP evidence. I did feel a soft stroke from a delicate hand on my arm. Could this be the young woman ghost that Wish Fire detected? Detrick the EMF bear went off a couple of times in the kitchen area. There were no anomalies in my photos. After we did a thorough investigation, we proceeded with the cleansing. If the creature is a goblin, it was necessary to place salt around the full outside perimeters of the house. We also placed prairie flax on the door. Goblins do not like salt, nor do they like any kind of flax. Another strange ritual to get rid of goblins is a burning shoe. I brought one of my old shoes to this residence and set it on fire. After we did the "goblin cleansing", Wish Fire did a metaphysical cleansing with a eucalyptus smudging wand and I did my Roman Catholic house blessing. I recently received a phone call from Mrs. Satch and she tells me that the goblin is gone, there has been no more sightings of this creature. When we left Mrs. Satch's home, we stopped by Mossbrae Falls and at this location, we actually got 3 EVPs. One EVP was a male voice that says "over there!". 2nd EVP was a female voice saying..."ooooohhhhh". 3rd EVP was another male voice that says what sounds like "lucky bastard!" Dunsmuir was a very unique experience and even though we really didn't find anything at the home, it was still a nice adventure and saw some beautiful sights! It was all worth it.
