Sometimes my life is topsy-turvy. There are so many things that occur all at once, it almost makes me dizzy. One of those dizzy days is Thursday, March 6, 2008. Let me tell you how this day began. I got up early in the morning, ran through my notes on demonology, because on this day I would be flying to Burbank and visiting the Ives Street Entertainment Studios located at 178 S. Victory Blvd, Ste. 206 in Burbank! Since I am the resident Demonologist for HPI, Ives Street Entertainment wanted to interview me for their upcoming documentary called Angels and Demons. My flight was Southwest 381 from Sacramento to Burbank, leaving at 8:45am, I chased down a hot Starbucks caramel macchiato and headed towards the gate. I surveyed the crowd and I noticed a woman dressed all in black with lavish long black hair to her waist and exotic looks that seem to originate from Brazil. I have been to Rio de Janeiro and I thought to myself, perhaps she is Brazilian? Hmmm. I heard them calling the B section and I knew I had no more time to ponder about this intriguing woman and jumped on my flight.
As I finally reached Burbank, I got a ring on my cell, it was Leah Welborn, my personal limo driver that would take me to the studio (a big smile). Yeah...I could hear Kool and the Gang singing Hollywood Swingin' in my ears! As Leah greeted me with big smiles, she placed her hand out for me to shake it. I don't shake, I hug. Leah says..."hey, that's nice!" As we cruised through Burbank, I looked upon the Warner Brothers Studios and checked out the Hollywood Blvd sign. Yep, this is the life! As we reached the studios, the building reminded me of an old Austrian castle with semi-modern architecture. It was impressive! As we reached the studio, they were busy interviewing the angel expert Eve Bierniat (her website:
www.angelartbyeve.com). I listened to her as she sat comfortably on the couch discussing her angel encounters and her knowledge of angels. She was a fascinating woman. My turn would be next. I was introduced to Natalie Thimm, Make-up Artist. She is the make up artist for the cast of Ugly Betty. She was the make up artist for the cast from the movie 'Inalienable'. She has been the make up artist for Alice Cooper. And now on this day, she is my make up artist! If you would like to learn more about Natalie, her website is:
www.nataliethimm.com and
www.myspace.com/makeupbynatallerenee She was discussing all of the celebrities she has met, as they were common folk. I was amazed at how quickly she could apply the make up, her expertise was dazzling.
Before I knew it, it was my turn in front of the camera and I was assisted by Steve Kaminski - Producer of Ives Street Entertainment and Michele Butler - Assistant Producer of Ives Street Entertainment. Steve and Michele work extremely well together, it was like seeing two minds in the unison of one. Steve asked the questions and Michele analyzed the production as it was taking place. Royce Dudley mastered the camera with a sharp eye.
If a bead of sweat dripped from my brow from the hot lights, Natalie was there in a heart beat fixing my face like a Nascar mechanic on the sidelines ready to change the tires on a race car! Steve drove on with the questions and I drove on with the answers, while each time I spoke, Royce observed the screen to make sure that nothing was awry. I could see Michele patiently watching in the shadowy background to make sure that everything was up to par.
Finally my interview was over with and it was like I knew everyone for a lifetime. We laughed, we joked, we talked about past projects that Steve worked on, such as the Clay Pigeons movie or his latest film on the Apocalypse. Steve treated us all to a fantastic lunch. It was a thrill and I didn't want to go, but I had to leave, because I had a 4:35pm flight back to Sacramento on Southwest flight 3046. As I was waiting for my flight, I was totally in awe..because now the Brazilian looking lady was waiting for flight 3046, she too had a flight to Burbank and was now headed back to Sacramento. This was uncanny, I had to speak with her. Come to find out, she identified herself as Shalon Delgado, a model that came to Burbank this day to attend a modeling meeting. She is breaking into the entertainment field and told me of the many independent films she has participated in. As we talked, I learn that she has had many paranormal experiences. Ahhhh...how I love networking. As we talked we pledged that we would meet again and I would write an exclusive article about her paranormal experiences. She definitely has some fascinating stories to tell. We rode back together and I learn she has 3 children and a husband that is serving in the Navy in Hawaii. I learn that Shalon is not Brazilian, but has a multitude of nationalities, which radiates her dauntless exotic beauty. Look out for my article on Shalon and if you wish to learn more about Shalon, check out her website at:

As I get home, I think..."stick a fork in me, I'm done!" Then Shannon 'Ms. Macabre' McCabe is ringing my cell phone...she asks how everything went and we discuss this for about 40 minutes, then she tells me that she has set up radio interviews with Captain Jack of WPRT Paranormal Radio. He will be interviewing Shannon McCabe - President of HPI, Jennifer Baca - Investigator, Holly DeLaughter - Investigator and no other than Paul Dale Roberts - Occult Detective; Anti-Demonic Warrior and any other title I want to give myself. Well, I can't turn this down, because Captain Jack and Jimmy of WPRT Paranormal Radio have offered me a position with WPRT as their 'content editor'. That means on a weekly basis, I will be submitting my articles to the WPRT website and at times Captain Jack will be discussing the articles that I submit.
I am honored to be part of the family of WPRT and to be associated with Captain Jack. Captain Jack is taking paranormal talk radio into the next level. He is a man that has a charming personality and engages the audience with intriguing insight into the unknown. Captain Jack will go far, just watch and see! Now, Shannon comes up with the brilliant idea of having Captain Jack interview the four of us, all in one night! I believe we made radio history! How many radio hosts have interviewed 4 people in one night? I can't think of any. The show had humor, insight and some scary moments! It was brilliantly done and Captain Jack and Shannon pulled this baby off without a hitch, until I started speaking and some weird metallic noise started interrupting the conversation that Captain Jack was having with me. It almost sounded like some interdimensional entity was trying to speak over the airwaves, it was weird! Finally my talk with Captain Jack ended and now I could head off to bed, as I was preparing for bed, I was shutting off the TV and noticed it was Lionel Ritchie on the air, I turned it up and he was singing 'All Night Long'. Ha! Yep, Lionel, you said it all, where is my pina colada? This day and night seemed like a party!

Okay, okay..hold on everyone, there is something scary I can tell you. When I was in Vilar, Portugal, I heard a fascinating story while sitting outside of a cafe. I learned about the story of Heila Batista the Bruxsa. The man I was talking with, I will only identify as 'Longsleeves', he doesn't want to be identified in this article and he still emails me to this day. He said that in the 1920s in the town of Vilar, there was a young woman named Heila Batista. She had two children, ages 9 and 12. She dabbled in the dark arts and somehow enticed a demon into her household. The villagers noticed that Heila's personality was changing, it seemed more diabolical. Her children seemed neglected, they were always hungry and begging for food on the streets. There were strange demonic sounds that were heard from her home and the maddening sound of what sounded like barbaric sexual acts. It was rumored that Heila was engaging in a sexual liaison with a demon. On certain nights, the villagers were seeing a large bird creature flying into the night and it seemed to originate from Heila's home. The suspicions of the villagers was unbearable, they wanted to know what was happening at the home of Heila, but felt awkward in confronting Heila and her two children. Then finally it happened, a terrifying scream resonates from the home of Heila. As the awakened villagers forcefully entered Heila's home, they found her laying next to her two children, with blood dripping from her mouth. Her children were mercilessly slaughtered by their own mother. Heila was feeding off the skin and blood of her own precious children. Heila was lynched by the angry mob. Heila and her children were buried in unmarked graves and the town kept quiet about this horrific incident. Longsleeves identified Heila as being a Bruxsa. It was told that the demon that came into Heila's life, made her into a shapeshifter, that was part bird, part werewolf and part vampire. So, if you ever visit Vilar, make sure to always look behind your shoulder, because Heila the Bruxsa may have her eye on you. For more on my vacation to Portugal, see the link:
