https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kentuckiana-Research-4-Paranormal-Activities/119233011486221Wayne Cashman, a long time friend to HPI International (Hegelianism Paranormal Intelligence) shares his guidelines for Kentuckiana Research 4 Paranormal Activities. Let's see what his group is doing to improve themselves in paranormal research and investigating!
KENTUCKIANA RESEARCH 4 PARANORMAL ACTIVITIES - PARANORMAL INVESTIGATING GUIDELINES Remember, the most important thing is teamwork. Pre-Investigation preparation: *Gathering information by researching history of property and surrounding community *Talk with property owners and on rare occasion, neighbors *once information is gathered, on the day of the investigation, meet with the team members going on the investigation and go over all information gathered. *Plan a strategy on how the investigation will take place.
(Group discussion) Remember that all investigations are different and don't always go according to plan *Get equipment ready and loaded in vehicles (good idea to make a checklist so you don't forget anything) Plan discussions: *If there are enough investigators going then split investigators into two different groups and always remember we always work as a team. *At this time we discuss what needs to be done at the investigation site. The investigation: *Everyone that has cameras and audio equipment uses it themselves from the time we arrive till we leave. *Assign someone per group to take notes (part of pre-planning) *someone introduces themselves and the team to the property owner *we explain to the property owner what we are planning on doing and how the investigation should go.
*Ask them the location of the most activity *Set up video equipment at that location (tech persons responsibility) *All lights out *Do a walk through to see if you see, hear, feel or smell anything *Separate groups, one goes to an area and one takes another so they wont interfere with one another. *Use meters and start the investigations *Start EVP session (When someone is asking questions, no one should be moving to cut down on background noises) No one whispers during the entire investigation due to it could be misruled as an EVP on the recorder *Once both groups are done with their area, the groups switch. The two groups do not discuss the evidence found with the other group. Reason why is because you don't want to place it already in their mind, this way the evidence found is more accurate
*Once inside of property is done, we then go to the outside and investigate the outside the same way we did the inside. *We explain to the property owner that we are complete with the investigation and we will get the results to them in the next two weeks *We meet at the vehicles, load and go Post investigation : *We meet at where we started to discuss the investigation and what we know so far *We go home, check out the pictures and EVPs that we personally recorded *We then meet one week later to go over evidence *We create report to submit to property owner *One week later we meet with the property owner to reveal what we found EVPs *All recordings from previous investigations should be downloaded and deleted from recorder to make room for new investigation *All recorders should be started at the time we arrive at the location and not stopped till we leave *When doing an EVP session, everyone should stop moving till session is over *When asking a question, you should wait ten to twenty seconds before asking another question
*Make sure the questions relate to the environment, history and a variety of general questions *While recording, no one whispers As stated earlier, you can mistake a whisper as an EVP from a spirit *Say when session starts and ends so everyone will know when to stop moving Still photos: *The higher pixel the camera, the better quality picture you will get *Make sure all pictures from previous investigations have been downloaded and deleted from camera so there will be room for new investigation and you wont get the two investigations confused *Memory card is advisable so you will have more space to take more picture
*Always have fully charged batteries with fully charged back ups *Start taking pictures when you arrive *Take random pictures in random directions *The more pictures you take, the more likely you will capture something, so take lots of pictures *Turn your camera around and take pictures behind you because you don't know what's back there *Take pictures of other team members because there could be spirits around them and you may want to use them for the website *If you hear a noise, take a picture in that direction *If you are taking a picture next to someone else taking pictures, try not to take them at the same time due to over expose *Continue to take pictures till you leave *Important to take pictures both inside and outside of property Video:
*A digital video recorder with night shot is usually best for the best results *Like a digital camera, a video recorder with the highest pixel or resolution is best *You can actually start recording while traveling near the location This way you can get a feel of the surroundings *Take a video of the property *Inside the property, find out where the hot spots are and set up your cameras there *It is best to have multiple cameras set up in different locations as to cover multiple locations at one time *Make sure your back up battery pack is charged and extra available *Make sure all previous recordings have been downloaded and deleted so you will have enough space the investigation *You can do an EVP session in front of the camera because there could be a spirit around the person asking the questions *When video taping outside, use same standards as inside *When done with the investigation and taking down your video equipment (and all other equipment) make sure you gather and pack everything You don't want to leave anything behind Special meters and other gadgets needed
*The most common meter is the K2 meter which reads Electro Magnetic Fields (EMF) which is the energy the spirit produces Do not use this around cell phones, they will pick up the EMF from the phone *Instant thermometer is used to record the temperature and the fluxuation of temperatures *Surface thermometer to get surface temperatures *Plasma ball can be used to visually see energy from a spirit by asking it to touch the globe *Make sure you have plenty batteries for every piece of equipment *Walkie talkies are used so you can communicate with the other group *Flashlights are used to see where you are going in dark areas. They can also be used to try to have the spirit turn it on and off or dim the flashlight *Notebook and pens can be the most important instruments you have to keep detailed notes of everything that goes on during the investigation.
Times, temperatures, if you heard something, seen something, the surrounding. Everything involved in the investigation *With the notes taken, you can go back to them to help recall something about the investigation Going over the evidence: Week One *Everyone goes over the evidence they gathered with their cameras and audio recorders *Video recordings are reviewed *We meet one week later to go over evidence gathered Week Two *Transfer all evidence to CD and create report to be given to client *Make a copy of CD and report for team files *Make arrangements with client to meet and give them CD and report. Also to go over our findings *Meet with team and go over investigation and see if there can be improvements *Place all evidence and report in a file. Investigation complete *Get equipment ready for next investigation Special advice Download editing programs for audio (Audacity is what I use) photo (to outline and mark areas of interest, also lighten and change contrast) and videos (to make short video files). This will make it easier to review.
