Comments: The author Charles Liu, Ph.D is a professor of astrophysics at the City University of New York's College of Staten Island. Dr. Liu also writes for students and general audiences including Visible Ink Press' popular The Handy Astronomy Answer Book and The Handy Physics Answer Book. He is also involved with a youtube radio show with Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Jeffery Lee Simons. You can say Dr. Liu knows his stuff. Dr. Liu explains that we deal with quantum physics every day. Take for example, your computer, your laptop, your Ipad, your cell phone all use the principles of quantum mechanics. When you feel the heat of the sun, quantum mechanics is at work deep inside the sun. Your DNA follows the rules of quantum mechanics. Yep, you can't escape it, quantum mechanics is all around us. With this book, you get a history lesson of prominent people that studied quantum physics aka quantum mechanics. You'll learn about John Dalton (1766 - 1844). Dalton is best known for his treatise "A New System of Chemical Philosophy". This work, published in 1808, firmly established chemistry as a scientific field and set up the future development of atomic, nuclear, and quantum physics. For a minute there, I had to look at the cover, to see that this book doesn't have the title: "Quantum Physics for Dummies". You get so many answers to so many questions. Example: How do molecules move? How are molecules put together? What is nuclear fusion? What are the most fundamental particles in the universe? As a paranormal investigator, I find a lot of information in this book fascinating. Take for example..."what is quantum teleportation". Hint: It's NOT "Beam me up Scotty!"
