I love the fact that we live in a haunted world. We are surrounded by mysteries, and I love hearing about those mysteries. Tonight on 7/9/2024, I got a call from a guy named Eli. Eli asked me if I ever heard of the Sailor Bar Jogger? My answer is no. Eli tells me that joggers and hikers hear footsteps behind them. The footsteps get closer and closer, and the hiker or jogger will take a look and there is no one behind them. This is the Spirit of the Sailor Bar Jogger. According to Eli, this has been happening a lot. Now that I know about this ghost, I will have to check it out and it becomes Case # 92B533H99876. If you ever visit the Sacramento Area, stop by the Sailor Bar. Sailor Bar is a park with a lot of history and wonderful present-day opportunities. Settled by gold-seeking sailors, this park was dredged for gold during the Gold Rush. Today, visitor activities such as rafting, fishing, horseback riding and nature gazing, have replaced the adventures of historic explorers. If you are wondering how Sailor Bar got its name. Legend has it that Sailor Bar is so named because a sailor jumped ship to stake his claim during the Gold Rush.

After I talked with Eli, I received a message from a friend on Facebook. My friend who I will call Dan M, does not want to be identified. Dan M says he just came back from New Orleans and visited the LaLaurie Mansion. Dan M asked me if a certain TV ghost hunting group ever investigated the LaLaurie Mansion. My answer..."I don't know". I told Dan M. that I was once stationed at Fort Polk and Camp Beaugard and while there, attended the 1983 Mardi Gras. I did stop by LaLaurie Mansion and asked a few people about the mansion. The stories that were told to me is that people hear the sounds of torture. They hear shrieks, screams, crying, moaning and sobbing. People smell burning flesh. People claim that Delphine LaLaurie still haunts the mansion, and she is known to grab your arm and scratch you. People say all of the ghosts in this mansion are violent, they will push and shove you. Some people have claimed that they have been bitten by the ghosts of this mansion. People hear the dragging of chains. A white woman apparition with glaring eyes will appear. A large black man in chains will make his presence known. Dan M. says that when he visited the mansion he was engulfed by phantom cockroaches. The cockroaches were all over his body. Dan M. started screaming and the cockroaches disappeared. From all of the stories I hear about this mansion, I have a tendency to believe Dan M.

Delphine LaLaurie was most likely the most evilist slave owner in America. She was a well-known socialite, but on April 10, 1834, things came crashing down, when a fire started at her Royal Street mansion. They discovered bound slaves in her attic who showed evidence of cruel, violent abuse over a long period of time. LaLaurie's house was subsequently sacked by an outraged mob of New Orleans citizens. She escaped to France with her family. A mob of vigilantes burned down the mansion. When Delphine escaped to France, the mansion was rebuilt. The LaLaurie Mansion is located at 1140 Royal Street. When I visited the LaLaurie Mansion, I did not see anything paranormal, but I did talk with many people that had so many stories about this mansion. Delphine was one of the worst serial killers, she was right up there with H.H. Holmes. Just imagine as the vigilantes broke down the doors to the quarters and found "seven slaves, more or less horribly mutilated, suspended by the neck, with their limbs apparently stretched and torn from one extremity to the other. With horror like this, the evil negative energy will stay in the atmosphere forever. I believe residual and intelligent hauntings are taking place at this mansion and they will last for eternity. With my visit to the 1983 Mardi Gras, the next day I stopped by Marie Laveau aka the Voodoo Queen's grave site. A visitor at the grave site claims that one time he saw a snake slithering on her tomb.
