Before we talk about Cherie Vincent, let's talk about a few other things. Today is Sunday, April 29, 2007, and I stopped by Bel-Air Market to get a few things for my lunch during the work week and came across Jessica Arriola, who enjoys reading my ghost articles. She ran up and gave me a hug and inquired about my latest article in regard to the Brookdale Haunting investigation. So, this day is starting good. This morning I have to stop at Starbucks and meet a woman (name withheld due to confidentiality, she will be referred to as Jane Doe throughout this article) on her experiences of possibly being abducted by aliens. I am on an H.P.I. (Haunted and Paranormal Investigations) of Northern California scouting expedition seeking out possible investigations for the team. Jane Doe sent me an email after reading my articles and wanted to relate her story to me. Jane Doe had a very sweet smile and the biggest brown eyes. The story is very strange. At age 7, she experienced sleep paralysis and was unable to move from her bed. Age 10, she saw a large shadow that appeared to her as the grim reaper. The entity looked sinister and from the way she was describing the entity, it sounded like the man in black that is mentioned in the Versailles Time-slip story. Age 14, she again experienced sleep paralysis. Age 23, during her sleep paralysis a large white light appeared in front of her face, it was hazy and she was later able to place her hand through the white hazy light. The light dissipated and everything went back to normal. At age 29, she saw a black shadow that covered her whole body, then a white light surrounded her body. I am not quite sure if she is being abducted by aliens, but she is experiencing lots of light activity during the sleep paralysis. It also seems that she is experiencing the man in black type of entity as described in the infamous Versailles Time-slip incident. Men in Black of course are connected to the UFO phenomenon. Would this experience by Jane Doe be reasonable for an investigation? I doubt it, because we would have to hang out for years at her home to experience anything.

As I left Starbucks, I wonder how I became the Kolchak: "The Night Stalker" kind of reporter for H.P.I. But, thinking about it I have always been interested in the paranormal. On my own before I joined H.P.I., I investigated the Superstitious Mountains in Arizona, Billy the Kid's grave, Tower of London, haunted caverns under Dublin Castle in Ireland, a haunted red light district studio in Amsterdam, in which I captured an orb next to a lady of the night, Winchester House and OK Corral - Tombstone. The paranormal has followed me around my whole life. In 1976, I witnessed 6 glowing discs in formation over Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. In 1979, I joined the U.S. Army's Military Intelligence (M.I.) and found the M.I. connection to the UFO phenomenon. Of course, when I was a young boy, I lived in a haunted house on Effy Street in Fresno. All of these experiences have been recorded for posterity. I remember one day, I was writing a fictional story on ghost hunters in which I gave them the acronym of S.P.I.T. (Sacramento Paranormal Investigation Team). I did a google search to make sure SPIT was not being used anywhere else and happened upon HPI. Before I knew it I went on my first investigation with them and became their Ghost Writer and assistant organizer.

After my first interview with Jane Doe, I was heading up to Folsom, CA to meet up with fellow H.P.I. paranormal investigator Cherie Vincent. Cherie has been doing scouting investigations at nearby cemeteries near her home. The cemeteries are: St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery and Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery. On one of her investigations, she was conducting EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) experiments and said "anyone want to talk to me"? The EVP that she played back to me, distinctly said "okay". Cherie blew me away today, but before I get all carried away with some of this mind blowing stuff. Let me introduce you to Cherie. Cherie has gorgeous maroon dark curly brown hair, 2 vampire bite tattoos on her neck. She has actual vampire canine teeth! Cherie is a vampire fanatic. She loves the realm of vampirism, but doesn't consider herself as a real vampire. When she explained this to me thoughts of the movie "Blade" and "Underworld" came to mind. On her naval is a tattoo of a sea horse. Yes, Cherie is quite the interesting lady. Cherie is an Ouija Board enthusiast and has her own Ouija Board Meet-up Group. Cherie is also a practitioner of the use of divining rods. Divining rods are also known as water witching rods, dowsing rods and witching sticks. Cherie has a sweet personality and the brightest smile. It was enjoyable interviewing her.

Before Cherie and I went on our own private investigation, she showed me video footage of the nearby cemeteries that distinctly show dancing orbs. She showed me photographs of orbs in the cemetery. Her EVPs that she played back to me were incredible. She walked by a tombstone with the name of Jason and on the EVP, it played back the Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th scary sound that goes 'tsch - tsch - tsch'. The Jason incident occurred at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. So, this tells me that ghosts have a sense of humor. Other EVPs that she had me listen to were:
Cherie: "Can we sit here?" EVP Male Voice: "I'll be glad to, alright."
EVP Male Voice: "Help".
EVP Woman Voice: "Take me Away."
EVP Male Voice over grave of Daniel - WWI Veteran: "Alright".

Cherie also explained to me that when using her Ouija Board, her TV sometimes goes on static. Most of the time she gets an entity named Tod, who was born in 1919 and died in 1929. He lays out on the board, the words 'mama'. But, what is also interesting is that a woman committed suicide that lived directly behind her and her name was Dot. This is Tod spelled backwards. Cherie wanted to throw that in, it was an odd coincidence. Cherie goes on to say that she was attracted to Ouija Boards, she had an urge to release her energy within the board.

Now back to Cherie and I. Back to our own private investigation. Our first investigation was at St. John Baptist Church. Cherie showed me where she picked up EVPs at grave sites such as "Daniel A. Lowney, CPL US Army WWI - Born: April 11, 1891 - Died: Feb 17, 1969 and Frank Antonio's grave site. The EVPs that we picked up at this cemetery are:
"I miss you".
"Alright."

Other EVPs that we picked up at Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery were:
Paul: Excited on how divining rods worked, I said "holy sxxx!" and "sxxx!" The entity in turn mocked me and said "holy sxxx!" and "sxxx!".
EVP Male Voice: "Those are great" (talking about divining rods).
EVP Male Voice: "What are those?" (another male voice, asking about divining rods).
Paul: "Tell me your story." EVP Male Voice: Long conversation (unintelligent), but you can make out some kind of conversation.

During our investigation at Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery, is where I got really freaked out. Mind you, this is during broad daylight! Here are the incidents that took place. Cherie pulled out her dowsing rods. I held one, she held one. She asked the dowsing rod where a spirit was. The dowsing rod that she was holding and the one I held both moved in unison, pointing the same direction 8 different times and then pointed down to one location, it pointed to a grave. The dowsing rods that we both were holding were indicating a spirit was over this grave. I did not in anyway move the dowsing rod to coordinate with Cherie's dowsing rod. I was blown away! Then Cherie would take me to various graves and I would not look at the grave, and I asked the dowsing rod to indicate if the grave was female or male. If it was a female the dowsing rods would cross and if it was a male the dowsing rods would remain the same. We did this 12 times and only once it gave me a false reading. So, 11 times it gave me the correct answer. About this time, I am pretty freaked out. As Cherie and I sat on the bench at the graveyard a huge black buzzard flew onto the top of the tree. It had a huge wingspan. A buzzard in a cemetery? How very strange. When Cherie and I sat in my car, I spoke into the EVP and asked..."is there anyone in this car?" Cherie played back the EVP and again, I almost fell out of my chair. The EVP voice, not my voice, nor was it Cherie's voice...said "yes". It was a man's voice and a strong heavy whisper, that really sounded creepy! Ask me now if I believe in life after death and my answer is a definite 'yes!' At this cemetery I was blown away with the dowsing rod experience and cussed in excitement and accidentally said "G" damn out loud. Then I said, if there is a spirit here, let it touch me. No more than 5 minutes later a burning sensation was felt on my leg. I look down, there is a scratch and what looked like 2 bite marks and I was bleeding. There was no bug on my leg. The burning sensation hurt so much after I left the cemetery I had to pull the car over to examine my leg. The area swelled and there was a bruising of my left leg. The bruise that was left was in the shape of a thumb. This was a very shocking experience and I am still in complete awe, with my jaw agape at astonishment! I will not forget on how we were asking the name of a spirit and on the EVP, it was a male voice that said "Norwick". The entity was saying his name was Norwick? This is extremely weird! Thank you Cherie for this wild and exciting experience!

Ghostbusters at the Old Historical City Cemetery - Sacramento!
By Paul Dale Roberts

It's April 7, 2007, Saturday. The time is 10:00 a.m. H.P.I. (Haunted and Paranormal Investigations) of Northern California take claim to this cemetery on this day for about a couple of hours! On this sort of cloudy gloomy day, H.P.I. Paranormal Investigators entered the main gate of this old historical cemetery on Broadway in downtown Sacramento. We have a good turn-out, the investigators are: Shannon McCabe/President/Lead Investigator; Tim Hawkins; Wendy Smith (Shannon's mom); Carol Gillis; John Wachter aka Vlawde/Lead Investigator; Kristen Sheley/Researcher; Paul Dale Roberts/Ghost Writer; Julie English; Cherie Vincente; Jennifer Baca; Anusha Wickramasinghe; Michelle Paykel; Emily McCarthy; Dandamudi Veerendranadh aka Vee.

There is a historian at this outing and he relates all kinds of historical information about this cemetery, which can be found at this site: http://www.oldcitycemetery.com/ I will give you a quick history lesson. The cemetery was established in 1849 and some of the people that are buried at this cemetery died in the 1850 Cholera Epidemic outbreak. We noted many graves are marked by the secretive organization known as the Freemasons. I'm a Rosicrucian (A.M.O.R.C. Antiquus Mysticusque Ordo Rosae Crucis) - Key Number 5000030 - Member since 2001, so of course I took interest to this. One tombstone reads: The Founder of the Order of the Native Sons of the Golden West - General A.M. Winn Born: 4/27/1810 - Died: 8/26/1883. The Sutter family is buried at this historical cemetery also.

The Cherie Vincent Story: Water Witching Rods, Vampirism and Ghost Hunting. Empty
PostSubject: PART 02   The Cherie Vincent Story: Water Witching Rods, Vampirism and Ghost Hunting. Icon_minitimeSat Jan 26, 2008 5:11 pm

CONTINUED FROM LAST POST

This is the 3rd time I have been to this cemetery. The first time was when I went on the Halloween Twilight Tour with a psychic. The psychic saw many entities near and around the cemetery. She told the group that there was 3 women by a tree and that if we placed our hands into the area where the ghostly women were, we would be able to feel something. So I tried it and I felt a rubbing movement on my hand. My son Jason and ex-wife Patricia tried placing their hands in the same area and they felt a coldness. The second time I went to this cemetery was with my black Chow T-Rex and my Jack Russell Terrier Pika. Pika came to an area of the cemetery and was barking like crazy, he wouldn't stop. He was barking at plain air, while T-Rex laid down and ignored the barking. I believe Pika may be an intuitive.

Well, here I am again, my 3rd time around, this time with H.P.I. Since it's daytime, I figured we were not going to encounter any ghosts. So I decided to ask some of the investigators their experiences with the paranormal. Here is what some of them had to say.

Cherie Vincente: One time she did an investigation at Mt. Vernon Cemetery and was using her EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) monitor to see if she could pick up ghostly voices. She felt like an entity followed her home. The entity actually touched her on the neck. Her second encounter was because a woman died of a drug overdose behind her home. Because of her size, they had a hard time getting her out of the house. She had been dead for 3 days in her home. After the woman died, Cherie saw a clear shimmering image and her TV would go into static mode. Could this been the dead woman who died in the home behind her house?

Jennifer Baca: "When I lived in Michigan, my ex-sister-in-law and I did a seance and I felt like we summoned a spirit guide named 'White Feather', an Indian woman. Once when I was taking a nap, I felt a brushing against my hair. This happened to me twice."

Tim Hawkins: "When I lived in Carmichael, California, I lived with a ghost, that I called 'Melvin'. Melvin would visit my house guests. He would open the door and check on my guests. Once he threw a picture. I once heard crying in another room and there was no one there. There was this strange column of odor, that smelled like a burning smell, it moved around the house, I chased the column of odor around the house until it dissipated. Sometimes there were missing objects in the house."

Anusha Wickramasinghe: "While in Sri Lanka, I always felt presences in my home. I am a Buddhist and we have strong beliefs in reincarnation. I am considered a 'sensitive', because I can feel certain things. When I was at Mather A.F.B., I once felt a spirit walking behind me, I heard a spirit's voice call my name. My mother at Mather A.F.B. once saw a man in white and the ghostly entity walked away. When my mother went to investigate, there was nothing there."

Michelle Paykel: "When I was 8 years old, my grandpa died. I felt like my grandpa would check on me and my sister. There was once a glowing figure at the door, this occurred after he had died. This happened in Carmichael. My daughter saw my father's ghost sitting on the front porch, she was 2 years old at the time."

John Wachter aka Vlawde: "When I was young, from age 4 to age 7, I would hear my name called out. I would see if my parents were calling me, but it wasn't them. When I got older, the name calling stopped."

Kristen Sheley: "When I lived in Oregon, I played around with an Ouija Board. I asked for the entity to make his or her presence known and the smoke detector went off. Never played with an Ouija Board again."

Emily McCarthy: "When I was in high school, my sister and I lived in a house in East Sacramento, somewhere by 40th and R Street. The house, a small brick house was built in the 1920s or 1930s. The doorbell of this home would ring on its own. Sometimes there were knockings on the door and no one was there. My mother saw a woman in a nightgown and she thought it was me. She actually saw a ghostly woman's figure in a nightgown. Sometimes in this house, the lights went on and off on it's own accord. We lived in this house in 1999 to the year 2000. When my sister told her teacher about this house, the teacher was familiar with the stories of this haunted home."

Paul Dale Roberts: Well, let me put my two cents in. When I lived in San Bruno, I heard stories about the Daly City Cemetery. I have been to this cemetery and I never witnessed anything. But, this cemetery was legendary. There were many graverobbings, because graverobbers would steal the jewelry from the graves. The Chinese have a tendency of placing valuable jewlery and money into the graves of their loved ones. People saw ball lightning flying around the tombstones. Legend has it two lovers parked their car and a blue glowing disc landed in the graveyard and the boyfriend went to investigate and never came back. The girl got into the driver's side of the vehicle and drove like crazy to get out of the graveyard and she claimed a Bigfoot creature jumped from the gated arch onto the hood of her boyfriend's car. Legend has it that the girl was last known to be in a mental ward in Napa. Her boyfriend was never seen again and the police thought the girl had murdered her boyfriend and did not believe her lunatic ramblings. So the story goes...

We had a meeting at The Old City Cemetery and Shannon related about the upcoming Northern California Paranormal Conference that will be held at the Brookdale Lodge in Brookdale, California. Special guest is psychic Nancy Bradley.
Shannon discussed the soon-to-be-released H.P.I. comic book. H.P.I. Meets Dracula. Artist is Mike Henderson (former founder of H.P.I.), writer is Paul Dale Roberts and Letterer is Warren Montgomery (former letterer of the comic book Razor). John Wachter aka Vlawde has created a H.P.I. radio site, various H.P.I. members can host the show or be guests on the show and may discuss their paranormal experiences. Tim Hawkins talked about a possible field trip investigation on the U.S.S. Hornet. Shannon elaborated that maybe sometime in the future we can go out-of-state for an investigation. Places that people mentioned that we could investigate was the Bell Witch Haunting in Tennessee, Elvis Presley Mansion, New Orleans. Kristen Sheley said 'let's take it further, let's go overseas, like England!' A note to Kristen, Carol Gillis and I have both been to the Tower of London, one of the most haunted places in London! Another eerie place in England that I personally visited was Stonehenge. England is overrun by ghosts! But, that's my thoughts on the matter!

Now as we were all leaving the cemetery, we were missing one investigator. Some of us were concerned. Did this investigator meet up with some unknown force? Was she consumed by a portal that took her into an unearthly dimensional realm? Was she being held captive at a mausoleum by the undead? Did we need to do a search and rescue for this investigator? The investigator Julie English wasn't missing at all. She was riding around in a motorized Sheriff cart with her arm around the deputy. That Julie, she's a real card! Geesh!
