Comments: Dave Lizewski wants to be a superhero. He doesn't want to fantasize about it, he really wants to do it. Don't laugh, there are many people that have become real life superheroes. Here is an example: http://reallifesuperheroes.com/

Dave Lizewski becomes the superhero called Kick-Ass. I know Kick-Ass has been around for a while, but I am still amazed at this comic book novel. I am amazed on how this book grabs the reader's attention, no wonder Hollywood picked up on this story. The first scene is a clencher, it draws you into the story immediately.

Here is that bait in the story. You see a superhero guy on top of the roof of a building. The superhero guy jumps off the roof and plummets to his death. The guy was an Armenian with mental health issues and was a big fan of Kick-Ass.

Kick-Ass during this incident was being tortured and had electrodes attached to his testicles. Kick-Ass thinks on how he started as a superhero. As a superhero, Kick-Ass has come close to death several times. He thinks on how in the past, he would look at comic book message boards and wondered why no one became superheroes. Kick-Ass after wearing the mask and uniform for the first time, gets his ass kicked by some Puerto Rican graffiti artists. During this altercation, Kick-Ass gets a knife to his abdomen. One of Kick-Ass fights goes viral on the Internet and Kick-Ass becomes a celebrity overnight phenom. When Kick-Ass teams up with Hit Girl, Kick-Ass finds himself taking vigilantism to the next level. Hit Girl with her Samurai sword does not play around with the bad guys, she does not hesitate to cause death and mayhem.
